Meet the Team
Hello, I’m Mr Marangos,
I will be teaching 5C, and are the Year 5 Lead.
I have been teaching at SMSG for more years than I would like to mention. I trained as a secondary school art and design teacher but switched to primary teaching quite early in my career. If I wasn’t a teacher, I would like to have been an illustrator.
What I most enjoy is being with my family. For me education shouldn’t be about what we can stuff into young minds but what we can draw out of them and focusing on the children’s natural strengths.
Hello. I am Miss Brookes,
I teach Year 5 and will be teaching 5B this year. Since I was little, I have always wanted to be a teacher. It’s a joy to now be living that dream and supporting children on their learning journey. I can’t wait to get started and see all that we’ll achieve together this year!
In my spare time I love watching sports—especially football and tennis. I have a season ticket at Liverpool and you’ll often hear me talking about Liverpool! I also like going on adventures with my family. One of my favourite things to do is go to the zoo with my son as I love animals.
Hello, I’m Mrs Dunkley,
I have been teaching at St Mary and St Giles Church of England School since 2015. This year, I will be teaching class 5A on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
I’m really looking forward to getting to know the children, supporting them in their learning, and helping them grow in confidence as we take on the exciting challenges of Year 5 together.
Hello, I’m Mrs Whitfield,
I’ve been working at St Mary and St Giles Church of England School for 12 years, and this year I’ll be teaching in 5A on Thursdays and Fridays.
My favourite thing about teaching is helping children discover something they can feel passionate and excited about—it’s wonderful to see their confidence grow as they find joy in learning.
I love reading, looking after my two rabbits, and spending quality time with my family.
