All adults at our school recognise the responsibility we have under the Education Act 2002 and we have arrangements in place to safeguard and promote the high level of care for the safety and welfare of our children.

Our Policy on Safeguarding and Child Protection sets out how our governing body discharges its statutory responsibilities relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children at our school. Our policy applies to all staff, paid and unpaid, working in the school. The governors, teaching assistants, mid-day supervisors, secretaries as well as teachers can often be the first point of disclosure for a child.

Matters of concern, whether they relate to home or school, will always be treated confidentially. Please make early contact with the school to discuss any concerns.

All children in school know they have trusted adults who will listen to them. They also know that Mr Palmer, Miss Hoskin, Mrs Fraser, Mrs Atkins, Mrs Parkes and Claire are always available should they want to share any concerns they have about their own safety or the well-being of others.

From time to time families may need extra support too, which we will be happy to provide.

It is important that telephone numbers, emergency contact and medial details are kept up to date with the relevant office.

Safeguarding Information

We would also like to reassure you that we rarely share information with other agencies about your child without first speaking to you.

Even if we make the decision to speak to Social Care about your child, we will always undertake to share our intention to do so with you unless we deem that doing so could put the child at greater risk of harm, or impede a criminal investigation.

We fully understand that this can be a very distressing set of circumstances but we can only reassure you that we follow the procedures required by Milton Keynes Safeguarding Children Board.
